Arun Chaudhary and two others arrested for converting govt-owned land into private property released
KATHMANDU: Arun Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of CG Holdings, and two others arrested for illegally converting 10-ropani land of Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory (government-owned land) into private property, have been released.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Kathmandu District Court had ordered the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police to complete the investigation within two days and release them on general date if not completed within the given time frame.
CIB spokesperson Nawaraj Adhikari said that they were released on Wednesday as per the same.
There is a legal provision that the charge sheet will be registered within 25 days after the police take the suspect (s) into custody and start the investigation.
Police, however, expressed their dissatisfaction after the court ordered them to complete the investigation within two days.
