Nepal China Media Forum endorses ‘One-China Principle’

KATHMANDU:  Nepal China Media Forum (NCMF), a collective grouping of journalists working to better Sino-Nepal ties, has come up with a statement to endorse the ‘One-China Principle’.

According to the fresh release by the Chairman at NCMF Kishor Shrestha, the release reiterates that Taiwan question is an international issue of China.

The statement, which comes amid new election results in Taiwan’s elections, says, ‘the recent so-called election in Taiwan region has caused concern among Nepalese citizens, media, and those dedicated to foster the ring friendship and people-to-people relationships between Nepal and China.’

The statement adds, ‘Nepal has always upheld the One-China Principle. We reiterate that the Taiwan question is China’s internal affair, and we recognize only one China in the world. We support the Government of the People’s Republic of China as the sole legal government representing the whole of China and affirm that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory. Consequently, we strongly oppose “Taiwan independence.’
