India’s External Affairs Minister Jaishankar pays courtesy call on President Paudel
KATHMANDU: External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar paid a courtesy call on President Ram Chandra Paudel on Thursday.
Jaishankar arrived in Kathmandu to take part in the seventh meeting of Nepal-India Joint Commission this morning.
During the meeting, President Paudel stressed on the need of Nepal-India connectivity, mitigating climate change impacts and cooperation in the development of hydropower.
President Paudel said that agriculture, energy development, tourism, and human resource development are the priorities of Nepal, urging the Indian External Affairs Minister for cooperation in those sectors, the President’s press advisor Kiran Kharel said.
On the occasion, Jaishankar said India is well aware about Nepal’s prospects, expressing commitment for continued support in those sectors.
