Husband, wife among 5 killed in Rukum West tractor accident

JAJARKOT: Five persons died when a tractor met with an accident near Kot Chyaurigaun Khola in Athbiskot Municipality of Rukum West on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Lok Bahadur Shahi (46) of Naula, Athbiskot-10, his wife Chuki, Dhanram Sarki (48), Bhardar Sarki (52) and Nirmal Sarki (47) of Danda, Athbiskot-10.

The tractor (Ra 1 Da) was heading towards Ghartigaun when the incident occurred at around 10:30 pm yesterday, the Area Police Office, Athbiskot said.

Police said that nine persons were injured in the accident and they are undergoing treatment at the Municipal Hospital.

According to police, tractor driver Gopal BK (21) of Athbiskot-9 is on the run after the incident.
