Two members of a family killed in Gorkha fire

GORKHA: Two members of a family were killed when a fire broke out at a house at Huchlachok, Dharche Rural Municipality-1 of the district caught fire last night.

The deceased have been identified as 75-year-old Kanchhi Gurung and her son Chandra Singh Gurung (39), said Deputy Superintendent Ramesh Kumar Shrestha, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Gorkha.

The fire was brought under control with the joint efforts of the locals and a police team mobilized from the Jagat Police Post.

According to Shrestha, the charred bodies of the mother and son were found inside the house while conducting a search after putting off the fire.

The house has been completely gutted in the fire.
