ACC U19 Premier Cup: Nepal beat Bahrain by seven wickets

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Bahrain by seven wickets in the ACC U19 Premier Cup held in Malaysia on Sunday.

Nepal achieved the target of 78 runs in 11.4 overs at the loss of three wickets.

This is the second consecutive win of Nepal in the tournament. Earlier, Nepal thrashed Iran by a wide margin of 274 runs.

For the winning team, Dev Khanal remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 27 balls with four boundaries and one six. Similarly, Arjun Kumal made 32 off 31. His scores included five fours. Opener Dipak Bohara contributed four.

For Bahrain, Anas Obaid Syed took three wickets.

Bahrain won the toss and decided to bat first and made 77 runs in 37.5 overs at the loss of all wickets.

For the team, Muhammad Basil hit highest 34 off 77 balls with two sixes and two fours. However, other players could not score double digits for the team.

Rishab Ramesh contributed six, Ayan Obaid Syed three and Sai Sarthak Vaddiraju two.

Nepal’s Dipesh Kandel took six wickets while Durgesh Gupta four.

Nepal will be playing their third match against Saudi Arabia on 19 October 19.

Nepal will make it to semifinals if they won the match.

Top three winners in the tournament will qualify for the ACC Asia Cup to be held in Pakistan in December.
