Prem Parajuli elected UML’s Valley Special Province Committee Chairman

KATHMANDU: Prem Parajuli has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of CPN-UML’s Valley Special Province Committee.

All the office bearers were elected unanimously after Chandra Rijal, who had filed his nomination for the Chairman of Valley Special Province Committee, withdrew his candidacy at the request of the party’s senior leadership.

Parajuli was made the candidate for the top post of the Committee with the support of politburo member and District Committee In-Charge Sujita Shakya among others.

Rijal was forced to withdraw his candidacy through Chairman Oli after he did not pull out of the race at the request of party General Secretary Shankar Pokharel.

Bidur Karki has been unanimously elected as the Vice-Chairman, Milan Raj Kharel as Secretary, Jitendra Shrestha and Urmila Sunuwar as Deputy Secretary, Election Committee Secretary Ghanendraraj Shrestha said.
