Full bench to hear writ against Koshi Province Chief Minister

KATHMANDU: A full bench will hear the writ against Koshi Province Chief Minister Uddhav Thapa.

CPN-UML Koshi Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Rewati Raman Bhandari said that though a joint bench of Sapana Pradhan and Sushmalata Mathema was assigned for the full hearing of writ filed with the claim that the vote of confidence was taken unconstitutionally by using the Speaker, it was agreed to send to the full bench.

There will be more than two Justices in the full bench.

On Friday, the hearing of the writ was assigned to Justices Ishwor Khatiwada and Sushmalata Mathema, but it was postponed for today.

Conducting a preliminary hearing on August 24, Justice Ishowr Prasad Khatiwada had issued a show-cause notice.

The Supreme Court has already said that the vote cast by the Speaker cannot be considered valid in accordance with the Constitution.
