MCC will go into implementation: UML Chair Oli

BIRATNAGAR: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact will be implemented as it has already been endorsed by the Parliament.

Talking briefly with the mediapersons in Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday, leader Oli said that there is no doubt that the MCC Compact endorsed by the Parliament will go into implementation.

“Anything endorsed by the Parliament will go into implementation,” he said, adding, “The government should have thought earlier whether it would be suitable to endorse the MCC or not.”

But he called a 12-point declaration made while endorsing the MCC by the Parliament an absolute lie.

“The ruling coalition had lied to the people by issuing a 12-point interpretative declaration,” he said.

Saying that the ruling coalition betrayed the people by issuing a 12-point declaration, Oli said that the MCC will not accept the interpretive declaration.
