CAN slaps fine of Rs 10, 000 fine on Simrik Air Chairman Rameshwar Thapa

KATHMANDU: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has decided to impose a fine of Rs 10,000 on Simrik Air Pvt. Ltd Chairman Rameshwar Thapa for repeatedly creating obstructions in the work of the Authority.

Thapa has been accused of repeatedly violating the rules and laws of the Authority and creating confusion among the people by spreading false information against the safety instructions.

He was imposed the fine as per Sub-section (2) of Section (25) of the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Act 2053, the CAN said.

The CAN warned that the flights of Simrik Air will not be allowed to operate if he expressed his reluctance to pay the fine.

The decision to impose the fine on Thapa was made after he defied the order and directive without furnishing the clarification sought by the CAN.
