One Nepali among 7 killed in Bara bus accident

BARA: Seven persons died when a bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident in front of Churiyamai in Bara on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Bijay Lal Pundit (41) of Loharpatti, Mahottari, Nepal, Bahadur Singh (67), Mira Devi Singh (65), Satyawati Singh (60), Rajendra Chaturvedi (70), Shreekant Chaturvedi (65) and Baijanti Devi (67) of Rajasthan, India.

The incident took place when the bus (Madhes Pradesh 3001 Kha 7994) was heading towards Janakpur from Kathmandu this morning.

Dadhiram Neupane, spokesperson at the District Police Office, said that three persons died on the spot and three in the course of treatment. He said that 26 persons were travelling in the bus.

He said that the injured are being treated in various hospitals of Hetauda.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
