Gold smuggling case: High-level probe committee’s draft prepared, to be presented in all-party meeting

KATHMANDU: The task force formed to form a high-level probe committee to investigate the gold smuggling case prepared a draft on Tuesday.

CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang said that the meeting held this morning prepared the draft.

“We have prepared the draft. It will be presented in the meeting scheduled for 2 pm today. It will get full share from there,” Nembang told Nepal Press over phone.

Subash Nembang from the UML, Hit Raj Pandey from the CPN (Maoist Center) and Ramesh Lekhak from the Nepali Congress are in the task force.

According to a source, the task force prepared the draft for the formation of a high-level probe committee as per the Commission of Inquiry Act 2026.

It has been learnt the name of the committee to be formed under the leadership of a High Court judge will not be decided today.
