PM and his Bangladesh counterpart Hasina hold meeting
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina have held talks on matters of bilateral interest and concern. Prime Minister Dahal met his Bangladeshi counterpart on Monday on the sidelines of the United Nations Food Systems Summit taking place in Rome of Italy, according to the PM Dahal’s Secretariat.
The two Prime Ministers met at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization head office. Similarly, they held important talks regarding enhancing collaboration in agriculture and hydropower sectors, PM’s press coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma said.
Moreover, they talked on various topics related to regional cooperation and partnership.
Present on the occasion were Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr Beduram Bhusal, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the members of the Nepali delegation. High officials of Bangladesh government were also present on the occasion.
Bangladesh is preparing to immediately import 40 megawatts power from Nepal. It plans to import 9,000 megawatts power until 2040. Bangladesh has also prepared to invest in some key hydropower projects in Nepal.
