Manang Air chopper found crashed, five bodies recovered
KATHMANDU: The missing helicopter of Manang Air has been found crashed at Lamjura Pass of Likhupike rural municipality-5 in Solukhumbu district.
The helicopter, bearing the call sign 9N-AMV, was en route from Solukhumbu to Kathmandu with six passengers, including the pilot. It had been reported missing since 10:01 AM today.
The Chief District Officer of Solukhumbu, Basanta Kumar Bhattarai, confirmed that the bodies of the five individuals who were on board the helicopter have been recovered. He also mentioned that the condition of one person is currently unknown.
The helicopter was piloted by Captain Chet B Gurung and the remaining five are members of a Mexican family.
