UML demands PM Dahal’s resignation in NA session (video)
KATHMANDU: The main opposition CPN (UML) has demanded Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s resignation in today’s session of the National Assembly (NA).
As the meeting of the National Assembly commenced, UML’s parliamentary party leader in the NA, Devendra Dahal, obstructed the meeting and demanded PM Dahal’s resignation, objecting to his recent statement.
They took the stand that they would not allow the meeting to continue unless their demands were met. With the obstruction, the National Assembly meeting has also been adjourned.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, during a book release event of businessman Pritam Singh on Monday, made a statement that Singh had visited Delhi multiple times with the intention of making him the Prime Minister.
Earlier today, the UML convened a Parliamentary Party meeting and objected to PM Dahal’s statement.
During the meeting, the party decided to demand PM Dahal’s resignation as a protest against his controversial statement, said UML parliamentary party whip Mahesh Bartaula.
