CIAA files corruption case against former PADT member secretary Dhakal
KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed a corruption case against the then member secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust Dr Pradeep Dhakal in the Special Court, Kathmandu.
The anti-graft body in the charge sheet has claimed that Dhakal acquired over Rs 14 million, the legal source of which has not been established, said the CIAA Spokesperson Bhola Dahal.
According to a statement released today by the CIAA, a corruption case has been lodged in the Special Court against Dhakal. During an investigation, it was discovered that Dhakal had illicitly accumulated a substantial sum of money through the abuse of power during his tenure as the member secretary of the PADT, spanning from the Nepali month of Shrawan, 2074 BS to Jestha, 2079 BS.
The investigation was launched acting on a complaint.
