Huawei MNC 2023 receives praise for latest technology showcased

KATHMANDU: The recently concluded Huawei Mobile Nepal Congress (MNC) 2023 received widespread acclaim from participants and ecosystem partners, marking a successful two-day event. Held in collaboration with the ICT Foundation of Nepal, Huawei organized the Huawei MNC Digital Nepal Conclave at The Soaltee Kathmandu on June 23.

During the event, Huawei presented various technological advancements, including 5G scenarios, Huawei Cloud Solutions, Green Data Center, Smart Office Technology, smart city concepts, and smart grid campuses.

Dignitaries such as the Prime Minister of Nepal, the Minister of Communication and IT, CEOs, and leaders from telecommunication companies attended the Huawei MNC and commended Huawei for its efforts in enabling digital transformation in Nepal.

The event featured over 70 resource persons, including ICT experts from different countries, and included 15 sessions covering six topics. Subject matter experts from South Korea, Singapore, India, and Bangladesh contributed to the discussions at the conclave.

On the second day of the Digital Nepal Conclave, six different discussion sessions were held, focusing on three main themes. One panel discussion titled ‘Building Foundational Tech Stack and Digital Capability’ featured Xu Su, Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Asia Pacific Region, who shared insights on international experiences with 5G and IoT for building Nepal’s digital capability.

Jim Huang, CEO of Huawei Nepal, delivered the closing remarks, highlighting the significance of digital transformation for economic growth. He expressed Huawei’s commitment as an enabler of digital Nepal and shared their satisfaction in generating interest and awareness through the Huawei Mobile Nepal Congress. The insights gained from the event are expected to contribute to Nepal’s growth.

The MNC served as a platform to showcase global innovations and solutions, encouraging discussions on their relevance and potential business opportunities in Nepal’s journey towards becoming a digital nation. The event theme, represented by the acronym GUIDE (Gigaverse initiative, Ultra-automation speed up, Intelligent computing and network as a service, Differentiated expectation on demand, and Environmental, social and governance), underscored Huawei’s commitment to advancing digital transformation.

Under the slogan “Fostering Digitally Sakshyam Nepal,” the conclave emphasized Nepal’s capacity for digital transformation, highlighting the importance of necessary policies and implementation.
