PM Dahal in Tumlingtar to inspect flood, landslide-hit areas (photos/videos)

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday reached Tumnglintar in Sankhuwasabha district to inspect the flood and landside-hit areas.

A person lost his life and many went missing in the floods and landslides that occurred on Sunday in the Sankhuwasabha district due to incessant rainfall.

PM Dahal paid tribute to the deceased and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family. He directed all government agencies in the district to be involved in search, rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts, while also appealing to other volunteer organizations.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that the government would work as per the need to immediately connect road networks, facilitate the relocation of homeless individuals, and make arrangements for temporary housing.

He said, “I myself visited Melamchi recently, where significant damage was caused by sudden floods there. Here, too, we have witnessed a similar sudden outbreak.”

PM Dahal will also visit Taplejung and Panchthar, which have been affected by floods and landslides, today. He will then return to Kathmandu in the afternoon.
