Writ filed at SC against Citizenship Bill authentication

KATHMANDU: A writ petition was filed at the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday, challenging the authentication of the Citizenship Bill to amend the Citizenship Act, 2063.

Senior Advocate Surendra Bhandari filed the petition at the apex court today.

The Citizenship Bill was made public in the Nepal Gazette today after President Ram Chandra Paudel authenticated the bill on May 31.

The preliminary hearing of the writ has been scheduled for Sunday, said Bhandari.
