Writ filed at SC challenging govt’s decision to grant presidential pardon to Resham Chaudhary

KATHMANDU: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court against the decision of the government for granting a presidential pardon to Nagarik Unmukti Party leader Resham Chaudhary on Tuesday.

Sharada Bohara (Kadayat), the wife of Inspector Keshab Bohara, who was killed in the Tikapur incident, reached the Supreme Court on Sunday, while the writ was filed today.

The hearing of the writ has been scheduled for Wednesday, said Bimal Poudel, Spokesperson at the apex court.

Chaudhary was released from the Dilli Bazar prison on Monday.

President Ram Chandra Poudel as per the recommendation of the cabinet granted pardon to 482 convicts including Resham Chaudhary on the occasion of Republic Day.
