Rukum West Jeep accident: 5 killed, 10 injured

KATHMANDU: As many as four persons died and ten others sustained injuries when a jeep they were traveling in met with an accident at Dulima in Banphikot-8, Rukum West on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Karna Bahadur Magar (70) and Deuchan Khatri (50) of Sanibheri Rural Municipality-5 and Rekha Khanal (22) and her son and a person, whose identity has not been established yet, of Banphikot-8.

The jeep with the registration number plate (Lu 1 Ja 1747) fell some 400 meters off the road at Motikhola as it was en route to district headquarters Khalanga from Melchaur of Sanibheri rural municipality.

According to police, a total of 15 were onboard the jeep the incident took place.

Police are looking into the case.
