Bus hit kills 3 members of single family in Mahottari

KATHMANDU: Three members of a single family died when a bus hit a motorbike they were riding on in Mahottari on Wednesday.

Police identified the deceased as Amrit Mandal (26), his wife Anju Mandal (24) and niece Anshu Mandal (6).

The incident took place today afternoon when the motorbike (Madhesh Pradesh 01-004 Pa 6819), traveling from Samsi towards Janakpurdham, was hit by the bus (Ba 2 Kha 2396) head-on.

Police have taken the bus under custody, but the driver fled the scene after the incident.
