UML cadres obstruct East-West Highway to protest attack on Golbazaar Mayor Shrestha (With video)

SIRAHA: CPN-UML cadres obstructed the East-West Highway on Wednesday to protest the attack on Golbazaar Municipality Mayor Shyam Shrestha of Siraha.

The UML cadres took to the streets demanding stern action against those who attempted to attack Mayor Shrestha.

They have been staging a demonstration at Golbazaar by burning tires.

Mayor Shrestha was elected from the UML.

Shrestha is the brother of former minister and CPN-UML federal lawmaker Lilanath Shrestha.

Some people had thrown mobil on Mayor Shrestha while he was leaving the office.

Among them, police have arrested Sadhu Charan (43) of Naraha Rural Municipality-4. He is the cadre of Nepal Communist Party (Bahumat).

The UML cadres have demanded stringent action against Charan and others involved in the incident.
