Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Shah wins vote of confidence

KATHMANDU: Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah won a vote of confidence on Sunday.

In a meeting of the Province Assembly held today, he secured a two-thirds majority.

Out of 52 lawmakers presented in the meeting, 41 cast their votes in favour of Shah while 11 voted against him.

Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), Nagarik Unmukti Party, CPN (Unified Socialist) and an independent Province Assembly member voted in favour of Shah.

CPN-UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party lawmakers voted against him.
