Actor Paul Shah released from jail

KATHMANDU: Actor Paul Shah, who was arrested on the rape charge, has been released after being acquitted by the Pokhara High Court on Sunday.

He was released on Monday following the order of the court.

Shah had surrendered before the Tanahun District Court on February 27 last year after a complaint was registered against him.

Earlier, Nawalpur District Court had sentenced Shah to two-and-half-years in jail for sexually abusing a minor girl.

Though a rape case was filed against him, the Nawalpur District Court convicted Shah of child sexual abuse.

The Tanahun District Court, however, had acquitted him.

The same person had filed a rape complaint in two districts.

A 17-year-old singer had filed a rape complaint against actor Paul Shah in Tanahun on February 23.
