Earthquake measuring ML 5.7 hits Taplejung

FUNGLIN: An earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Taplejung district on Monday.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the epicentre of the earthquake was in Olangchungola of Faktanglung Rural Municipality-7, Taplejung.

The earthquake jolted the district at 4: 30 am today.

The tremor was felt in Taplejung and its adjoining districts.

Faktanglung-7 ward chair Chheten Lama said that no damage has been reported so far in Olangchungola due to the earthquake.

It may be noted that the 5.4 magnitude earthquake had struck the district with its epicenter at Olangchungola on February 9, 2021.
