Rabi Lamichhane hands over resignation to PM Dahal following SC’s verdict

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane handed over his resignation to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday.

Lamichhane submitted his resignation following a verdict issued by the Supreme Court (SC) today on the citizenship case.

The apex court removed Lamichanne from the post of lawmaker and minister issuing a verdict this evening.

A constitutional bench of the apex court said that Lamichhane did not reclaim the Nepali citizenship after renouncing foreign citizenship.
