Man killed over property dispute in Dhanusha
JANAKPURDHAM: It has been revealed that Dhanuk Das (40) of Mukhiyapatti Musaharaniya-3, Dhanusha was murdered over property dispute.
Two persons, who came on a bike, had opened fire at Das while he was in his shop on December 24. Later, they fled to India.
Das, who was critically injured in the incident, was rushed to a hospital in Janakpur but breathed his last on the way.
Following the incident, police swung into action and arrested three persons on Thursday. During the investigation, police came to know that Das was murdered over a property dispute.
Police have arrested Das’s first wife, his son-in-law and 20-year-old son.
The son-in-law is the police constable stationed at the Area Police Office, Janakpurdham.
It has been learnt that he had hired the shooter to kill Das. The shooter, however, has not been detained yet.
According to a police officer, Das has two wives. He has two sons from the first wife and a daughter from the second wife.
“Das’s first wife made a plan to kill him after the property dispute escalated,” the police officer said, adding, “She sought help of her son-in-law to make the plan successful. The son-in-law hired the shooter for Rs 300,000.”
Police claimed that the identity of the shooter has been ascertained. They are searching for the shooter.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
