EC decides not to conduct re-election in Syangja and Bajura
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has decided not to conduct re-election in Syangja and Bajura.
Hence, the poll body has issued a directive to resume the vote counting.
Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said that the directive to resume the vote counting was issued as per the report of the team sent to both the places.
The CPN-UML, Rastriya Prajantra Party and Rastriya Swatantra Party had demanded re-election saying that the Nepali Congress cadres had cast fake ballot papers by capturing four voting centres in Chapakot Municipality of Syangja-2.
Similarly, there were human casualties during the clash in Bajura on the Election Day.
A team led by Joint Secretary Tulasi Shrestha had the districts on Friday to carry out investigation.
