Dahal, Nepal hold separate meetings with PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal held separate meetings with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Baluwatar on Monday.

Prime Minister Deuba started holding discussions on forming the coalition government after none of the party garnered majority in the November 20 elections.

Leaders of the ruling coalition have agreed to give continuity to this alliance.

But, the leaders have not sat down together formally to discuss who will lead the government.

Prime Minister Deuba had held a meeting with CPN (Maoist Centre) Dahal on Saturday also and agreed to form a coalition government.

During the meetings held today, the leaders discussed government formation and other contemporary political issues.

Not only the ruling alliance, the CPN-UML has also started discussions about forming the government under its leadership.

Meanwhile, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel has asked (Unified Socialist) Chairman Nepal to help him become the prime minister.
