Complaint filed at EC demanding cancellation of Ramji Prasad Baral’s candidacy

A complaint has been registered at the Election Commission demanding cancellation of Ramji Prasad Baral’s candidacy.

The CPN (Maoist Centre) leader is a common candidate of ruling alliance in Kaski-3.

The complaint was lodged against Baral, also the Finance Minister of the Province, arguing that his name is on the blacklist of the Youth and Small Business Self-Employment Fund.

Bodhraj Subedi of Kaskikot registered the complaint at the Chief Election Officer’s Office.

The Youth and Small Entrepreneur Self-Employment Fund had given a loan of Rs 5 million to the Gandaki Machhapuchhare Cooperative Limited which had to be paid till 2016. Baral is one of the members of the cooperative.

Baral along with 15 others were served with an ultimatum to make the payment within seven days.

It has been learnt that the cooperative is yet to pay Rs 3.8 million to the Youth and Small Entrepreneur Self-Employment Fund.
