Ruling coalition cadres attack election team of Rabi Lamchhine in Chitwan
CHITWAN: The Rastriya Swatantra Party has accused the cadres of the ruling alliance of attacking its election team at Kurintar of Chitwan.
Party’s leader Deepak Bohara said that the election team of the coalition heading towards Fishling attacked the team of Rastriya Swatantra Party led by Rabi Lamichhane en route to Narayangarh from Kurintar.
Bohara said that a vehicle was damaged and a cadre sustained injuries when the coalition’s team pelted stones at them.
Following the incident, election candidate Lamichhane said that the cadres of alliance were escorted by the police and they are still taking part in the election rally.
Lamichhane said that he took this attack as an attack on him.
He has demanded action against the persons involved in the attack.
Journalist turned politician Lamichhane is a candidate from Chitwan-2 while Umesh Shrestha and Krishna Bhakta Pokharel are contesting the election from Nepali Congress and CPN-UML respectively in this constituency.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party has claimed that Nepali Congress Chitwan district member and Bharatpur Metropolitan City Committee Secretary Krishna Wagle among others were involved in the incident.
