Nepal Police Inspector Dhungana arrested for attempting to rape woman police sent to jail

DHADING: A Nepal Police inspector, who was arrested for attempting to rape a woman police at his office, has been sent to jail.

The District Court Dhading on Tuesday issued an order to send Inspector Apurva Dhungana to jail for investigation.

He was accused of trying to rape a woman police at his office while he was working as the head at the Area Police Office, Khanikhola.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim woman police, the District Police Office, Dhading on October 1 took him under for investigation.

The woman said in her complaint that Dhungana entered the women’s barrack in the mid night under the influence of alcohol and tried to rape her.

DSP Shyam Khatri of the District Police Office, Dhading said that Dhungana was sent to jail on Tuesday itself as per the order of the court.

He had been working as the chief of the Area Police Office, Khanikhola for the past 10 months.

Soon after the woman police lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, SP Rakesh Singh issued an order to attest Dhungana immediately.
