FNJ demands resignation of President Bhandari
KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has demanded resignation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari saying that she attacked the constitutional provision of the duty to follow and protect the Constitution by not authenticating the bill to amend the Citizenship Act.
The first proposal endorsed by the meeting held on Thursday demanded the resignation of the head of the state.
The FNJ said that the President should resign for the long term solution.
Earlier on Wednesday, the five-party alliance had issued a joint statement saying that the President violated the Constitution by not certifying the bill approved by both the houses-House of Representatives and National Assembly.
