ANNFSU cadres stage demonstration in support of President Bhandari (With photos)

KATHMANDU: Cadres of All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), the student wing of main opposition CPN-UML, staged a demonstration in support of President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday.

They staged the demonstration outside the Tri Chandra Multiple Campus in Jamal this afternoon after the President expressed her reluctance to authenticate the Citizenship Bill.

The cadres also burnt the copy of the Citizenship Bill saying that they do not want a coalition government and no one can sell the citizenship.

President Bhandari refused to certify the Citizenship Bill endorsed by the Upper and lower Houses for two times.

Earlier, the President had returned the Bill to the House of Representatives with a 15-point suggestion for reconsideration.

This is the first time since the promulgation of the new constitution in 2015, the President has defied Parliament.
