Despite order from Patan High Court, Tukucha excavation continues (With photos)
KATHMANDU: Despite a temporary order issued by the Patan High Court not to demolish the structures built by encroaching the Tukucha River, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to continue its work.
Saying that the court has issued the order only for three houses, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City said that there will be no obstacle to demolish other structures, a source said.
Bhola Bikram Thapa on behalf of the President Travels and Tours filed a writ at the Patan High Court after the Kathmandu Metropolitan City started a dozer campaign to search for the missing Tukucha River.
Responding to the writ, a single bench of Justice Dipendra Bahadur Bam issued a temporary order on Sunday.
As per the demand of the applicant, the court directed the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to furnish written clarification why the order should not be issued against the City,
The case will be heard on Wednesday.
The court has ordered the Kathmandu Metropolitan City not to demolish the structures built on the land registered in the name of Nepal Investment Bank, Uttar Man Lama and President Travels and Tours within that time.
