Sandeep Lamichhane in Singapore, calls lawyer from Nepal for legal consultation
KATHMANDU: It has been revealed that former Nepal national cricket skipper Sandeep Lamichhane is currently in Singapore.
Nepal’s leg spinner, who had come to Singapore from Jamaica, is taking legal consultation from there.
After a rape complaint was filed against him at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala, Lamichhane , who had gone to Jamaica to play Caribbean Premier League, said that he would come to Nepal within a few days.
But, he changed his mind after holding consultations with the legal eagles and decided to stay in Singapore.
According to a source, advocate Sarah Ghimre has left Nepal for Singapore to give legal advice to Lamichhane.
When a rape complaint was lodged against him, the Cricket Association of Nepal had contacted him. He said that he would return to Nepal soon and urged the CAN to help him in the legal process.
But, he has not contacted the CAN since he left Jamaica.
Lamichhane is preparing to fight a legal battle on his own.
The CAN suspended Lamichhane on September 8 after an arrest warrant was issued against him over an alleged rape case.
