Arrest warrant issued against Nepal national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: An arrest warrant has been issued against Nepal national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane.

The Kathmandu District Court on Thursday gave a permission to the concerned authority to detain him.

Police had written an application to the court to issue an arrest warrant after a minor girl filed a rape complaint against the Nepal’s leg spinner.

A 17-year-old girl had filed a complaint at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala on Tuesday.

Lamichhane is currently in West Indies to play  Caribbean League.

With the issuance of the arrest, the deck has been cleared for the police to apprehend him.
