Impeachment motion was brought to make Deepak Karki CJ : Rana

KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Cholendra Sumsher JB Rana said that the impeachment motion was registered against him after he turned down the proposal to make Deepak Karki the Chief Justice.

He said so while recording his statement to the Impeachment Recommendation Committee on Wednesday.

Rana claimed that the motion was registered against him to make Karki the Chief Justice.

Rana, however, did not reveal the name of the person who proposed the impeachment motion against him.

He said that he will not act under the pressure of political parties and the media.
