Police Constable killed in Jorpati scooter-bike collision
KATHMANDU: A person died and three others were injured when a motorbike and a scooter collided with each other near Orthopedic Hospital in Jorpati, Gokarneshwor Municipality-6, Kathmandu on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as scooter rider Bal Kumar Katuwal (35) of Palubari, Shankarapur Municipality-5, Kathmandu.
Critically injured in the incident, Katuwal breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel.
It has been learnt that he was a Nepal Police Constable working at the Metropolitan Police, Circle, Sankhu.
The injured have been identified as pillion rider Suresh Rai (31) of Jorpati, bike rider Suman Shrestha of Bhaktapur and Rojit Gayeju (20) of Bhaktapur.
Rai and Shrestha are undergoing treatment at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and gayeju at the Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital.
The scooter (Ba 76 Pa 135) and the motorbike (Bagmati Province 02 091 Pa 2476) collided with each other at around 11 pm yesterday.
