Bandh enforcers vandalise vehicles in various places of Kathmandu, 16 arrested
KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 16 persons for enforcing bandh in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
They were apprehended from various parts of Kathmandu, the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu said.
The bandh enforcers vandalized vehicles belonging to Mahasagar Travels and Nepal Yatayat in Koteshwor and Thapagaun respectively.
Similarly, the bandh enforcers also vandalised a college in Dillibazaar, SP Dinesh Mainali of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu said.
The Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal, Rishi Kattel-led Nepal Communist Party, Baigyanik Samajbadi Communist Party led by Ahuti and Karnajeet Budhathoki-led CPN-Maoist Samajbadi called the bandh today.
The morcha said that they called the bandh against the government for endorsing the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), violating the three-point agreement signed with the Communist Party of Nepal, issuing arrest warrant against Communist Party of Nepal General Secretary Chand among other leaders and against corruption and inflation.
