Government to award West Seti, Seti River-6 Hydropower Projects to Indian company
KATHMANDU: The government has approved the draft of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to award 1, 200 megawatt West Seti and Seti River-6 Hydropower Projects to an Indian company.
A 52nd meeting of the Investment Board presided over by Prime Minister and Investment Board Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba endorsed the MoU to be signed with NHPC to carry out study for the development of 750 megawatt West Seti and 4550 megawatt Seti River-6
The study has shown that it will cost USD 2.47 billion (Rs 3 trillion according to the current dollar value) to construct these projects.
According to the Board, it will cost USD 1.48 billion and USD 927 million to construct the West Seti Project and Seti River-6 Projects respectively.
The NHPC has been generating 7, 071 megawatt electricity by completing two dozen projects.
