Probe committee decides to ask seven more days to investigate against former Finance Minister Sharma
KATHMANDU: The special probe committee of the House of Representatives formed to investigate against former Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said that it will not be able to complete its work within the given time frame.
Hence, a meeting of the committee held on Wednesday decided to urge Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota to extend the deadline by seven days.
Speaker Sapkota had given 10 days time to the parliamentary committee to investigate the incident.
The probe committee is yet to record statements of some of the persons and has also decided to send the hard disk of CCTV to the forensic lab for examination.
The committee will reach the conclusion only after it recovers the CCTV footage from the forensic lab.
Therefore, the committee has decided to urge the Speaker to extend the time.
Sharma is accused of involving two outsiders to tweak tax rates on the eve of the budget presentation.
