Nepal lose to Namibia by 40 runs in ODI Tri-series

KATHMANDU : Nepal faced a 40-run defeat at the hands of Namibia in the first match of the ODI Tri-series under the ICC Cricket World Cup League-II.

The match was played at the Cambusdoon New Ground in Ayr, Scotland on Monday.

Namibia had set a target of 221 runs in 47.3 overs for Nepal.

While chasing the target, Nepal made 180 runs in total in 46.5 overs losing all its wickets.

Arif Seikh scored the highest 50 runs for Nepal.

Similarly, Dev Khanal, Kushal Bhurtel, Karan KC, Asif Seikh scored 34, 27, 79 and 17 runs respectively while Sompal Kami and Mohammad Adil Khan contributed 10 runs each.

Dipendra Singh Airee returned to the pavilion scoring 4 runs.

In the bowling side, Nepal skipper Sandeep Lamichhane took four wickets while Sompal kami two wickets.

Likewise, Basir Ahamad and Dipendra Singh Airee claimed one wicket each.

Nepal will play its second match with Scotland on Wednesday.
