One held with over 500 gram gold from TIA 

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday arrested a man in possession of 516.5 gram gold from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Police said that they apprehended the man during the security check at the TIA customs office and recovered four gold biscuits weighing 466.5 grams and 50 grams of gold chain from his possession.

The gold was found hidden inside his inner wear, police said.

He had arrived in Kathmandu through a Qatar Airways flight QR 652 at around 10:45 AM this morning.

Police have not disclosed the identity of the arrestee.

Further investigation into the case is underway, a TIA police source told the Nepal Press.
