Sisdole locals stopped KMC from dumping garbage at Sisdole landfill site

KATHMANDU: Locals of Sisdole Village have stopped the Kathmandu Metropolitan City from dumping garbage at the Sisdole landfill site, saying that they would not abide by the agreement reached in Kathmandu yesterday.

Locals stopped the garbage trucks heading towards Sisdole landfill site from Kathmandu to dump the garbage this morning.

Earlier on Monday, an agreement had been reached among the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Ministry of Urban Development and local representatives from Sisdole and Bancharedanda to resume the collection of garbage from today.

During the meeting, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City had expressed its commitment to address the demands of the local representative gradually.
