Democratic Socialist Party submits 11-point memorandum to PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: The Democratic Socialist Party handed over an 11-point memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday.

Chairman Mahantha Thakur along with party leaders reached Prime Minister Deuba’s residence in Baluwatar and demanded that the government endorse the Citizenship Bill and release the cadres arrested on false charges during the Madhesh movement.

The party has also demanded to provide representation in local bodies, province assemblies and federal parliament on the basis of population. It has also demanded to distribute budget on the basis of population.

Claiming that the local elections were rigged, the party demanded that the elections be held in a fair and fearless environment.
