6 arrested for gang rape of 14-year-old girl in Rupandehi

RUPANDEHI: Police have arrested six persons who allegedly abducted and gang-raped a 14-year-0ld girl.

They were detained  from Bandganga of Kapilvastu on Tuesday evening for allegedly gang raping the girl at Rudrapur in Kanchanpur-4 of Rupandehi.

The arrestees have been identified as Niraj Karki of Kanchan Rural Municipality-5, Rahul Sinjali and Sulabh KC of Kanchan Rural Municipality-4, Laxman Rasaili, Amit Kandel and Saurabh Thapa of Kanchan Rural Municipality-3 of Rupandehi, DSP Jesi Shah of the District Police Office, Kapilvastu said.

Police say that all of them are 19 years old.

Based on information that a group of youths had abducted a girl who had gone to watch a cultural programme at a local market, police swung into action and detained them.

They have accused of abducting and raping the girl at the house of Laxman Rasaili in Kanchan Rural Municipality-4.
