Govt allocates Rs 75.10 billion for energy sector
KATHMANDU: The government has allocated 75.10 billion for the development of the energy sector.
Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma announced the budget for the energy sector while presenting the budget for the next fiscal year 2022/23 before a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Sunday.
It is mentioned in the budget that 715 MW of electricity will be connected to the national transmission grid this coming fiscal year and Rs 43 billion has been allocated for the construction of power transmission line and infrastructure.
The government aims to provide electricity to every household in the next two years.
Likewise, the government has decided to reduce the subsidy being provided to the cooking gas and remove cylinder gas from the Singhadurbar by July next year.
