Ward member candidate injured in Bhojpur Khukuri attack

BHOJPUR: An unidentified person attacked a ward member candidate with a khukuri in Shadananda Municipality of Bhojpur on Saturday.

Amita Tamang, a CPN-UML candidate, was attacked at around 10 pm yesterday, DSP Rajkumar Rai of the District Police Office, Bhojpur, said.

Tamang received deep cuts on her head, police said.

Police said that they are further investigating the case.

Meanwhile, leaders of all the political parties of Shadananda Municipal Committee have issued a joint statement demanding action against the culprit.
